No day is ever the same at New Leaf Tree Care, where we provide a variety of services to achieve the best possible outcome for the trees and our customers.

We are recognised and professional Tree Surgeons, having been fully trained and certified by NPTC – City & Guilds. Working safely within an established skilled team using the right tools to complete the operations in a safe, timely manner causing little disturbance as possible and leaving the site/ garden clean and tidy.

Being based in the market town of Skipton in the Wharfedale Valley and having the opportunity to cover the equally charming surrounding areas of Ilkley, Harrogate, North Leeds and Wetherby. We do count ourselves very lucky to have such a rewarding career in such a picturesque area of Yorkshire.

Crown clean

Removal of dead, diseased or damaged branches.

Removal of epicormic growth

Removal of new shoots/ sucker growth from the base of the tree & main stem, providing more space and light.

Pollarding

A technique used to prevent trees outgrowing their allotted space and reduce shade, by removal of the tree canopy back to the stem or primary branches.

Crown lift

Removal of the lowest branches to lift the canopy up to a specified height, it’s also an effective way of increasing light levels into the garden and property. Most local authorities require 2.5 metres above a footpath and 5.5 metres above a road.

Crown thin

Reducing the density of the foliage no more than 30%. By doing this you will reduce the weight of the canopy, allowing wind to circulate through and give more light to pass through

Crown reduction

The reduction in height and spread of the tree crown, by a specified measurement, shortening of branches to maintain natural form resulting in a similar but smaller outline.

All pruning work is to a high standard/BS3998 and we are insured with £5 million public liability.

If an application is required for the local planning Authorities for the trees in question, we can take care of that, be it Harrogate, Leeds or Bradford Districts however please be aware this is a lengthy process, looking at a minimum of 6/8 weeks for an answer if not longer. Rest assured we can deal with the whole process from start to finish free of charge.

Recycled tree waste
Always good to up-cycle where possible, so if you would like some woodchip or logs leaving when we have finished, we're more than happy to leave a desired amount. If you are not a customer but you would like some woodchip or logs for your personal use, or a project please do get in touch.
